To undertake preventative maintenance of ECG and ambulatory ECG recorders and exercise testing equipment The Cardiology Department offers a variety of non-invasive Cardiological Investigations which include electrocardiograms (ECG), the fitting of 24hr Holter Monitors and Unsupervised exercise tests for both in-patients and out-patients. The Department also offers an open access service of these investigations to the local General Practitioners. Service quality and efficiency To demonstrate flexibility in working and an awareness of the needs and priorities of co-workers, coordinating and cooperating with other health care professionals To be proactive in establishing practices that improve quality of care and efficiency as applied to non-invasive technical workload and administrative workload To undertake work in a timely and efficient way, meeting deadlines and keeping colleagues informed of changes in own technical workload To maintain clinical documentation and databases as directed, and to be responsible for establishing practices which promote high standards of record keeping with respect to accuracy, timeliness of completion and confidentiality To exercise initiative and judgement in solving problems related to own technical workload, whilst keeping others informed. The post holder should be able to maneuver ECG carts within the clinical area. They will be expected to move patients in wheelchairs and should be able to assist with the manual handling of patients with limited mobility whilst adhering to the departmental and Trust protocols and policies at all times Administrative To help organise the daily operating service of the Department. To help ensure that adequate stock levels of consumables are maintained. To demonstrate an awareness of the importance of efficient stock usage. To perform a range of clerical duties as required including making appointments, filing investigation reports, dealing with patient enquiries. General Responsibilities 1.     Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Cancer Services office in maintaining accurate records of new and existing cancer referrals. Work within theCancer Two Week Wait office to efficiently schedule and book appointments for patients in accordance with Trust and National guidelines, while also demonstrating a target-driven approach towards the front-end of the cancer pathways. Your role will be instrumental in ensuring smooth referral management processes, supporting adherence to trust guidelines, and contributing to the achievement of cancer standards. Manage patient registrations and appointment bookings in the Two Week Rule office, ensuring timely scheduling for patients referred under the Two Week Rule for suspected cancer. This will involve mastering cancer Two Week Rule pathways for various tumour specificities, maintaining accuracy and efficiency in the registration and booking process. The department is very busy and the post would best suit someone with good organisational, communication and prioritisation skills. Post is for 37.5 hours per week and involve working at both Epsom and St Helier as and when required basis.
