They will have significant experience and be responsible for delivering care in all areas of Dermatology Outpatients such as Day care / Phototherapy, assisting in theatre during minor operations, providing clinical knowledge and expertise to their team, whilst co-ordinating and delivering high quality care. They will be a role model and lead on specific projects / management functions as delegated by the Clinic Senior Sister or Matron. They will uphold the identified Trust values at all times. Clinical Responsibilities • Phototherapy – will possess certificate of course attendance and be signed off as competent. • Complex application of and co-ordination of Dermatological treatments including Day care treatments. • Long term condition management including experience of providing holistic support to individuals living with chronic health care needs. • Wound care and advice including suture removal. • Administering medications including injections. • Maintaining good time management and personal organisation. • Providing cover for colleagues in all clinical areas as required. Leadership and Management • Manage the day to day staffing arrangements and rotas, to ensure safe levels of practice. • Be a shift co-ordinator on a regular basis where appropriate. • Ensure all staff are aware of and adhere to all trust Protocols of care • Take continuing responsibility for the Ward / Department in absence of the manager. • Lead and manage their own clinical team within general clinical areas, and of the total team in the absence of the manager, in line with Trust values.
