    This Post has arisen to maintain and support development and expansion of service in Diagnostic Neuroradiology within the Trust. Based in our Radiology Department – Royal Preston Hospital / Chorley District General Hospital. This is a permanent post, and the opportunity exists to join our regional neurosciences centre for Lancashire and South Cumbria. The adult Neurology department is staffed by 12 Consultant neurologists. There are also 2 paediatric neurologists who have links with Central Manchester Children’s Hospital. The Neurosurgery department is staffed by 12 Consultant neurosurgeons providing a comprehensive adult neurosurgical service. We would like to invite you to be a part of our exciting personnel and equipment expansion, including state of the art CT, PET-CT, hybrid interventional theatre, and a 3T MRI scanner suite. You will be expected to provide a comprehensive diagnostic neuroradiology service and will provide support for the 10 existing neuroradiologists (6 of whom perform neuro intervention) and 2 head and neck radiologist. Candidates looking for less than full time hours are encouraged to apply. There is also an ongoing commitment to teaching SPRs who rotate through attachments within the Trust. • Support diagnostic neuroradiology colleagues in both IP and OP MRI/CT reporting. Also close working with colleagues in the wider neurosciences and radiology department is expected as part of the daily work. • A subspecialist interest in Head & Neck radiology is desirable; in addition to reporting of cross-sectional head and neck imaging, the post holder can partake in the network Thyroid and Head & Neck cancer MDTs and also perform neck ultrasound and FNAs/core biopsies. • Interest in PET CT would be supported. • Provide support for the local and Network neuroradiology MDTs. There are also substantial opportunities for development or maintenance of other subspecialist interests. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in a neuroradiology on call rota with 1:9 frequency. Experience in head and neck radiology and advanced neuroimaging techniques is highly desirable. The Radiology Directorate comprises Radiology, Neuroradiology, Ultrasound, Vascular (general) Interventional Radiology, Chest Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, including SPECT scanning and Oncological Radiology. Mammography is performed at the Chorley and South Ribble Hospital site. Additional scanning and service provision is also provided at our Preston Healthport site.     We are delighted to offer an apprenticeship in the Radiotherapy department. The role is for an Apprentice Therapeutic Radiographer. Radiotherapy is a rewarding career which requires a highly developed knowledge and professional skill-set to enable you to treat a wide variety of patients most of whom have a cancer diagnosis. It combines high level technical knowledge and skill with patient care and oncology management. You will work as part of a team delivering Radiotherapy treatment and ensuring the holistic needs of the patients are met. Therapeutic Radiographers are the only staff group in the NHS whose training specialises in cancer care from the start of the course. The Radiotherapy department at CUH has 7 treatment machines and 2 dedicated CT scanners. During your training and future career, you will work in all areas of the department. You will have a positive work ethic, be keen to learn and be able to work in a Radiotherapy and wider multi-disciplinary team. You will receive support to gain a wide range of experience and skills, in addition to regular supervision and mentoring. As part of the multi-disciplinary team, you will fulfil a key role in providing radiotherapy, care and support to individuals as specified in standard radiotherapy protocols. You will fulfil all tasks and work as part of a team responsible for providing an efficient service in the Radiotherapy Department. To perform a range of radiotherapy duties and procedures, as detailed within the apprenticeship programme, within the Radiotherapy department under the supervision of a qualified Therapy Radiographer at all times. To ensure that the Ionising Radiation Regulations 2017, IRMER 2017 and associated codes of practice and guidance notes together with the Health and Safety at Work Act are understood and adhered to in respect of staff, patients and members of the public. The role of a Digital Systems Specialist will oversee a team of Epic analysts who support and work to improve the Epic electronic patient record (EPR) as well as provide technical guidance. The Digital Systems Specialist will be required to communicate complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience. They will need to develop and deliver complex technical and process concepts to large groups of internal and external senior clinical and management staff. Digital Systems Specialists will work with operational and clinical staff to develop training and local support strategies to enable staff to realise the benefits from Epic and other digital systems. The Digital Systems Specialist will take responsibility for the design integrity of the module for which they are responsible, working closely with the Design Authority. They will supervise the analysts in their role working with clinicians and admin staff in specific departments or specialties to review workflows and standards already built into the EPR and facilitate agreement for future development and optimisation. They will be required to adapt and design the system solution to meet the specification of others and will be responsible for the operational aspects of one or more modules of the Epic system.
