Other consultant colleagues, senior management of the hospital, other hospital staff at LGT. Colleagues from the SEL Cancer Alliance and Kings and GSTT Network. Share with the other Consultant Haematologists in running the Haematology service, both clinical and laboratory. Consultant with an interest in Haemato-Oncology & General Haematology . Take part in on call rota on a 1:5 basis at QEH. Annual and study leave is covered internally with no locum cover. Take part in managerial duties in the Department and Trust. Undergo annual appraisal and timely revalidation. Undertake CME/CPD as required by the College, and facilitated by funds from the Trust. Take part in Clinical Governance as a practicing clinician and to seek to maintain clinical and laboratory standards. Take part in audit using the Trust audit facilities. Teaching and training of junior doctors, medical students, laboratory and other healthcare professionals. Provide continuing responsibility for patients in the post holders care and, in partnership with colleagues, work towards the optimal functioning of the Department. Provide cross-cover at the other site, wherever required

Quality of outcomes e.g. infection control targets, reducing re-admission rates. Financial management e.g. identification, implementation and achievement of cost improvement programmes and participating in efforts to ensure services are provided cost effectively e.g. managing locum agency spend, monitoring and managing the drug budget to target, ensuring accuracy of clinical data for the team. Operational efficiency e.g. day-case rates, waiting list activity and demand management. Medical Staff Management and Accountability Responsible for on-going assessment and regular appraisal of all doctors in training, Trust doctors and non-consultant grades as delegated by the Divisional Medical Director/Service Lead /Divisional Director of Operations. Adhere to Trust / department guidelines on leave, including requesting and reporting absence, and professional and study leave, and to ensure that members of staff for whom you are responsible do the same. Locum Consultant Neurologist

The post-holder will be responsible for maintaining continuity of care for patients managed by the preceding consultant while contributing to the development of services, with particular emphasis on CGRP monoclonal antibody and Gepant therapy and services for patients with cluster headache and other trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias. The role involves evaluating and treating a range of complex headache conditions, including patients who are candidates for CGRP blocking treatment, alongside urgent assessment and treatment initiation for cluster headache patients. The post-holder will work collaboratively with colleagues across the multidisciplinary team and contribute to timely, specialist care within the established 18-week treatment pathway. The successful candidate will be eligible for full GMC registration with a current licence to practise and will hold, or be within six months of, a CCST in Neurology with appropriate Specialist Register status, or be progressing through the relevant Portfolio Pathway. They will hold MRCP(UK) or an equivalent qualification and have comprehensive knowledge of neurological disorders, with clinical expertise in complex headache and facial pain disorders, including trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to run an effective clinical service, identify appropriate investigations and onward referrals, communicate clearly in written and spoken English, and work effectively within an interdisciplinary or multispecialty team. They should also demonstrate leadership, sound decision-making, a commitment to teaching and continuing professional development, and the ability to work in line with UCLH's values of Safety, Kindness, Teamwork and Improving. Desirable experience includes a PhD, MD or equivalent specialist training, teaching experience, involvement in formal educational programmes, organisational experience, and a proven commitment to high-quality research and publication in peer-reviewed journals.
