Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust was formed in April 1995 and is a provider of Community and Hospital Mental Health and Learning Disability Services for Greenwich, Bexley and Bromley. It is a specialist provider of Forensic and Challenging Behaviour services for Bexley, Greenwich, Lewisham, North Southwark, Bromley and Kent Prisons. Since 2010, Oxleas also provides a range of physical health services to adults and children in the community in the boroughs of Bexley and Greenwich. These range from health visitors and community midwives working with the very young, to district nurses and therapists meeting the physical health needs of older people. Greenwich ALD – The post holder will be part of the Mental Health and Challenging Behaviour Team and will undertake clinical assessments of patients with mental health and contribute to care plans accordingly. They will conduct a minimum of 4 Mental Health out-patient clinics per week. You will have a caseload of between 80 and 100 Mental Health (including Challenging Behaviour and Dementia). Diagnoses will include psychosis, anxiety, OCD, affective disorders, and dementia, autism, ADHD etc. The ALD service - Provides specialist health care and services for people over the age of 18 with learning disabilities living in Greenwich, Bromley, and Bexley boroughs. This is a locum anaesthetic consultant post for a motivated candidate interested in anaesthesia for obstetrics & major cancer surgery. The post covers sessions on labour ward including elective caesarean section lists at Queen Charlotte’s Hospital and major general surgery lists at Hammersmith Hospital. QCCH is 1 of the oldest maternity hospitals in the UK internationally renowned for the care of women with complex medical and obstetric problems and is also a tertiary referral unit for fetal care. Specialist services include maternal medicine, dedicated obstetric medical clinics for women with haemoglobinopathies and other haematological disease, cardiorespiratory disease, renal and liver disease. We have a 2-bedded maternity HDU with a dedicated midwifery team, able to provide non-invasive ventilatory support and manage full invasive monitoring. QCCH is a designated centre for the management of abnormally invasive placenta. This post requires subspecialty interest, experience and training in obstetric anaesthesia. Hammersmith Hospital provides complex cancer surgical services in gynaecology, endocrine, hepatobiliary and upper GI specialties and is a regional and national referral centre for these specialities as well as a busy kidney transplant centre. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to deliver peri-operative care to patients undergoing these complex procedures, including providing anaesthesia for these specialties in our new robotic theatre suite. The successful applicant will join a dedicated team of obstetric anaesthetic consultants at QCCH providing daytime cover for labour wardand separate consultant cover for all day elective caesarean section lists.At QCCH the delivery rate is approximately 5,700 per annum with a caesarean section rate of approximately 50% and a regional analgesia rate exceeding 60%. There are two newly refurbished operating theatres with four recovery beds, two level 2 HDU beds, four large high risk delivery rooms to accommodate multiple and complex births and a further ten delivery rooms on the labour ward. In addition to sessions at QCCH, the post holder will be expected to provide anaesthesia for a variety of surgical specialities at the Hammersmith Hospital including upper GI, hepatobiliary, endocrine, gynae-oncology, urology and renal including transplantation. The job plan will be flexible and formulated in partnership with the successful candidate. This arrangement allows us to respond to service requirements efficiently, as well as facilitating CPD, educational and annual leave requirements. Although two hospitals, QCCH and Hammersmith are considered as one anaesthetic department. The job includes a 1:8 on call component which covers obstetrics only. There is a dedicated resident anaesthetic registrar (ST5-7 level) covering labour ward. The successful candidate will work closely with the two existing Stroke Physicians. The Hillingdon Hospital provides Acute Stroke service for the people of Hillingdon, Hayes, Harlington, Ruislip and part of Ealing. Our designated 24 bedded Acute Stroke Unit offers intense stroke rehabilitation for patients referred by our local HASUs (NWLH & CXH). The team includes 1 x SpR from geriatric rotation, 1x CT1/2, 1x FY2 rotating every four months as well as a Trust Grade SHO. The team includes Neuro-physiotherapists, Neuro-occupational Therapists, SALT, Dietician and psychology input. There is a dedicated Stroke Clinic every week and daily TIA clinics. There is a Stroke specialist nurse at Hillingdon hospital, who supports the Stroke/TIA clinics. The post-holder will be responsible to the Divisional Director of Unplanned Care at The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The post is a minimum of 9 PA including 7 PA DCC and 2 SPA. SPA includes clinical and educational supervision, audit, personal CPD and mandatory training. Personal CPD must be included as part of annual appraisal which is mandatory and required for the revalidation process. The post holder will, together with his or her consultant colleagues and other health care professionals in the Directorate, provide an effective and comprehensive service on the Stroke unit and the outpatient Stroke clinics. The post holder will work closely with colleagues to support quality improvement and service development in the department. About the Role The successful applicant will: • Develop the Early Pregnancy service, including the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit. • Deliver specialist outpatient and ultrasound services for women experiencing complications of early pregnancy. • Participate fully in the consultant on-call rota for obstetrics and gynaecology. • Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement, teaching and service development. • Support multidisciplinary working across women's services We are looking for a consultant who is: • On the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of CCT at the time of interview. • Demonstrate expertise in the management of early pregnancy complications • Have experience in early pregnancy ultrasound and outpatient management pathways. • Show a commitment to excellence in patient care, education, research and service improvement. General obstetrics and gynaecology, coordination of labour ward activities in collaboration with midwifery leaders and related clinical governance issues.You will participate in 1:21 on call rota covering obstetrics. The on-call consultant will be routinely expected to be resident on site until 22.00h, and at any time during their shifts depending on clinical needs. 1. Clinical Care The duties outlined below cover the main duties of the post and may be changed in accordance with the needs of the service. The aim is to providea high quality, accessible consultant-led services; - To be integral to providing acute obstetrics services and fetal medicine services. - To take an active role in developing clinical governance initiatives, participate in multidisciplinary audit, clinical effectiveness initiatives and risk management. - To have regard at all times to the clinical and quality standards set out in the Patients’ Charter and the local purchasers’ contracts. - To liaise effectively and on a timely basis with General Practitioners, community services, and all healthcare agencies. - To maintain and promote team and multi-disciplinary work with the specialties, working closely and regularly with the consultant medical staff. - To provide leadership in teaching and clinical research. - To be up to date in statutory and mandatory training programs. - To maintain ‘Good Medical Practice’ and be in ‘good standing’ with the RCOG. We are seeking a Community Child Health and Child Neurodevelopmental paediatric consultant to join our dynamic and friendly department at the Cheyne child development service. This post is for a Community paediatrician especially with interest in Neurodevelopmental Disorders, Social Communication Disorders and Social Paediatrics. The successful applicant will join our team in providing excellent care to our local children and their families. This post is for 7 PA, to start as soon as possible. Candidates are expected to be on the GMC specialist Register in paediatrics with CCT/CCST in Community Paediatrics, or to be UK specialist trainees within 6 months of CCT/CCST/CESR at date of interview. The post holder will be a paediatrician trained to consultant level in all aspects of community paediatrics. The post holder: • Will provide consultant paediatric input for social communication assessments in the preschool social communication pathway and the school age social communication pathway • Will provide consultant paediatric input for neurodevelopmental clinics within a multidisciplinary team • Will provide consultant paediatric input for ADHD clinics both in terms and assessment and in terms of management. • Will contribute to and support the clinical governance programme of the Trust • Will contribute to the undergraduate medical teaching programme • Individual posts will also include specified roles from the Departmental job plan, to be discussed at interview.
