Key Responsibilities Team Leadership and Supervision Supervise, motivate, and coordinate a team of industrial cleaning operatives throughout the night shift. Allocate daily cleaning duties and ensure workloads are distributed effectively. Monitor team performance, productivity, attendance, and cleaning standards. Provide guidance, support, and on-the-job training to cleaning operatives. Ensure adequate staffing levels and report any absences or operational concerns. Lead by example, maintaining a professional and hands-on approach to cleaning duties. Industrial Cleaning Operations Oversee all cleaning activities across a large, operational distribution centre. Ensure warehouse floors, loading bays, walkways, communal areas, and operational spaces are cleaned to the required standards. Supervise waste collection, segregation, recycling, and disposal activities. Monitor the safe and effective use of industrial cleaning equipment, including scrubber dryers and other mechanical cleaning machinery. Conduct regular inspections to identify areas requiring additional cleaning or attention. Ensure cleaning schedules and site-specific requirements are completed within agreed timeframes. Assist with cleaning duties when necessary to support the team. Health, Safety and Compliance Ensure all cleaning activities comply with site health and safety procedures. Promote safe working practices in a busy distribution centre environment. Ensure the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Monitor the safe handling, storage, and use of cleaning chemicals in accordance with COSHH regulations. Identify and report hazards, incidents, near misses, and equipment defects.
