These posts are based at St Mary’s Hospital. The unit comprises a 32 bedded modern facility on the 9thfloor. Every bed is fully equipped with standardized modular monitoring and with information technology (ICCA/ICIP) allowing access to pathology and radiology results and patient documentation. St Mary’s is a busy tertiary referral and teaching centre as well as atop performing UK major trauma centre (TARN data). Tertiary specialties include major trauma, major upper and lower GI surgery, vascular surgery in addition to general surgery and medicine. The fellowship in intensive care is open to international medical graduates who have done part or whole of their specialty training. A minimum of 1 year of intensive care experience is required along with 6 months in either acute/general medicine, anaesthetics or emergency medicine. Your main role will be part of the CRM service specialising in cardiac device management and remote cardiac rhythm monitoring across site at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals. · You will be able to work independently in the cardiac cath lab at the Barnet site providing independent device implant support to the device operators for brady devices and ILR’s. · You will be able to carry out device follow up checks for pacemakers and be part of the inpatient device rota. · You will also be able to cover all non-invasive cardiac testing in the Cardiology dept when needed, 12 lead ECG, Ambulatory ECG and BP monitoring and analysis, ETT, TTT, MIBI. · You will also be expected to offer support and guidance and train junior team members and students attending placements. The post holder primary role will be working as part of the CRM team carrying out face to face device follow up checks in clinic and remotely, working in the cardiac cath lab assisting with device implants. The post holder must hold a valid Bsc in Cardiac Physiology qualification or equivalent. Being part of the rhythm management team, your role will include working in the cardiac rhythm lab, providing support during pacemaker and ILR implants. You will be part of the pacing bleep rota, and your role will involve carrying out inpatient device checks, patient queries and CRM admin. This role will be based primarily at the Barnet site; however, you may be expected to work at Chase Farm hospital when required. The rota will also involve working from home carrying out remote device checks and ILR downloads. You will also be expected to supervise junior staff in the cardiology department, mentoring and giving training support. You will be expected to cover all non-invasive cardiac testing where required across site, including 12 lead ECG, Ambulatory ECG analysis, ETT, TTT and MIBI. Overalls, gloves and masks are worn when processing. This role requires fine manipulation, so manual dexterity is essential, as is accuracy and attention to detail and good eyesight. The post-holder is expected to have knowledge of and work according to the principles of Good, Manufacturing Practice, in order to maintain the department’s Manufacturing “Specials” Licence. They will be expected to help the Chief and Senior Technicians in the unit with the training of all new staff working in the unit and re-training of any staff who have been absent from working in that part of the rotation for a long time.
