We are looking for an experienced, resilient and proactive Senior Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (Senior IDVA) to join our specialist domestic abuse service. Working with some of the highest-risk victims, you will provide expert advocacy, safety planning and risk management, ensuring victims receive the support, protection and representation they need to navigate abuse, recovery and the criminal justice system. This is an opportunity to combine complex casework with professional leadership, supporting colleagues, building strong multi-agency partnerships and helping shape effective responses to domestic abuse across the wider system. This role is full-time (37.5 hours per week) and is based across London, with a mix of office and home-based working. Potential travel across the service area will be required to attend partner meetings, MARACs and support delivery requirements. Do you want to make a difference every day? About the Role As a Senior Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (Senior IDVA), you will play a key role in supporting victims and survivors of domestic abuse who are referred through police, MARAC and criminal justice pathways. Working closely with policing partners and other statutory agencies, you will provide specialist advocacy, risk management and safety planning to help improve safety, reduce risk and support recovery. Alongside managing a reduced caseload of high-risk and complex cases, you will act as a senior point of expertise for colleagues, support effective multi-agency working and help ensure victims receive a coordinated and high-quality response throughout their journey. Key Responsibilities: Manage complex, high-risk domestic abuse cases. Provide specialist advocacy, risk management and safety planning. Respond to referrals received through police, MARAC and criminal justice pathways. Support and mentor colleagues. Represent the service within MARAC and multi-agency partnerships. Deliver briefings and awareness sessions to partner agencies where required. Strengthen partnership working across policing, criminal justice and community services. About You Ideally, you will have knowledge of police domestic abuse procedures, referral pathways and information-sharing arrangements, as well as experience delivering briefings, awareness raising sessions or professional consultation to partner agencies. You Will Need: A recognised SafeLives IDVA qualification (or equivalent). Experience supporting high-risk victims of domestic abuse. Strong knowledge of risk assessment, safety planning and safeguarding practice. Experience working within multi-agency partnerships and legislative frameworks. Good communication, advocacy and relationship-building skills. Experience supporting or mentoring colleagues. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage complex caseloads. Confidence using case management systems and Microsoft Office applications. A commitment to delivering high-quality, victim-centred support.
