    We are inviting applications for a Senior Clinical Fellow to join the Upper GI department. This is a full-time, permanent post, available to commence as soon as possible, but a suitable start date could be arranged with the successful applicant. The post is ideally suited to fully registered doctors seeking to extend their existing experience of Upper GI surgical services, in an experienced and supportive department. The post-holder will be required to work across both Royal Preston Hospital and Chorley District General Hospital sites. Previous experience at Registrar Level in General Surgery is essential. Ward Duties • Supervise the clinical and teaching activities of junior trainees. • Assess all new patients and liaise regarding clinical care with the Consultant and other colleagues. • Maintain appropriate clinical progress notes in the case notes. • Keep relatives informed regarding the progress of the patient and obtain Informed Consent for operations/procedures co-ordinating with the Consultant as appropriate. Operating Theatre • Attend the regular operating sessions of the Clinical Team to assist with major surgery and be trained in skills of increasing complexity under the close supervision of the Consultant. • Assist in the operating sessions of other teams from time to time and co-ordinate, assist with/perform emergency operations. Outpatient Clinics The Clinical Fellow must assist with the regular outpatient clinics including the ambulatory emergency general surgical clinic under the guidance and supervision of the Consultant. The clinical fellow is expected to cover hot clinics. On-Call Currently there is a 1:10 full shift system in operation, with prospective cover for annual leave and study leave. Lancashire Teaching Hospitals is a major acute trust in the North West. General Surgical services are currently delivered by a unified department across the Royal Preston and Chorley and South Ribble Hospital sites. At Royal Preston Hospital, the General Surgery Department is based on three wards. Three of the fourteen theatres are dedicated to general surgery. There is a dedicated 24-hour Emergency Theatre and a separate Day Case Unit/Theatre and modern Endoscopy Suite. At Chorley and South Ribble Hospital, there are two general surgical theatres with an integrated laparoscopic theatre and in-patient surgical beds, as well as full out-patient facilities and a radiology department providing CT, MR and interventional facilities.     Broomfield Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Clinical Fellow in Burns Surgery! The unit is a well-recognised centre for advanced training in Breast and Reconstructive Microsurgery, Hand and Complex Limb Trauma reconstruction, Burns acute management and late reconstruction, and Cleft surgery. St Andrews Centre is also a regional tertiary centre for Head and Neck cancer services for the Essex region. The fellow will be involved in the management of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer with loco-regional and free flaps reconstruction. You will be involved in SNLB, regional lymph node dissection (neck, axilla and groin) and parotidectomy for parotid metastasis. The post includes exposure to acute and reconstructive Burn Care in a high volume service. The unit offers plenty of opportunity for study and research.     We are advertising for a Senior Clinical Fellow (registrar level (ST3+)) in Upper GI, General Surgery at Southmead Hospital. The position is fixed term for 12 months and starting in October 2026. The post is intended to provide additional experience in various general surgical specialities to enable progression into a formal NTN for general surgical training. Although not a recognised training post, there are considerable training and educational opportunities for the successful candidates. There is a comprehensive induction course and regular weekly teaching with the intention that the service commitment, supervision level and educational opportunities will be equivalent to that of our existing trainees. This is a Full-Time post providing with basic hours of 40 hours per week, plus General Surgery oncalls as an addition. Senior clinical registrars will be expected to participate in ward rounds, clinics and operating theatres. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and hardworking surgeon for the position of Post-CCT Fellow in the Specialist Hip & Knee Unit. We are recruiting for: 1x 12 month post April 2027 – April 2028 A curriculum vitae will be required with the application form. The Specialist Hip & Knee Unit offers an exceptional fellowship opportunity for surgeons seeking advanced training in orthopaedic procedures. Led by a team of 12 substantive consultants, the fellowship provides comprehensive exposure to complex hip and knee arthroplasty, with unique flexibility for candidates to tailor their experience towards either arthroplasty, hip surgery or knee surgery. The Fellow’s post will provide exposure to all aspects of the management of patients with primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty and complex limb reconstruction. There will be ample opportunity to assist and gain experience with the full range of extremity and pelvic surgical cases. Attendance at arthroplasty MDT meetings is expected. The Fellow will be allocated to one of the sub teams within the unit and have the opportunity to rotate at 6 months. The Fellow will attend fixed outpatient clinics and operating lists. There will be opportunities to sit in clinic with the consultants as a learning experience as well as see patients independently. Likewise, in theatre, there will be opportunities to assist with complex surgical procedures as well as undertake surgery as the lead surgeon. As the fellow gains in experience they will be able to work more and more independently over time. There will be supervised research sessions. The post holder will be expected to present research at national and international meetings. The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital was founded in 1907 with the amalgamation of London’s three specialist orthopaedic hospitals into one single centre of excellence. We can therefore trace our history back to 1838 when the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital was founded. The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust was formed in 1991 as part of the first wave of NHS Trusts. We provide a comprehensive range of neuro-musculoskeletal health care, ranging from the most acute spinal injury or complex bone tumour to orthopaedic medicine and specialist rehabilitation for chronic back pain sufferers.
