We are looking to fill 2 WTE posts. This post provides a great opportunity to gain significant experience in a busy 56-bedded acute medical unit and our same day emergency care unit (SDEC) The successful candidates will be working alongside 12 consultants within Acute Medicine. You will also work alongside 1 other Registrar level doctor, 2 IMT3’s, 4 SHO grade trainees, 1 FY1, 7 JCFs, 3 PAs and 3 ACPs. The successful candidates will be supported by multiple teams of allied health professionals. There is ample opportunity to take part in teaching, Quality Improvement Projects, small research projects and to produce case reports for publication at this University Hospital. The acute medical unit puts on a weekly lunchtime teaching session which you will be encouraged to attend and participate in. Additionally, there are hospital wide Grand Rounds, journal clubs, lunch time lectures. The Neurosurgical Unit within theManchester Centre for Clinical Neurosciences (MCCN)at Salford Royal Hospital is one of the largest and busiest neurosurgical centres in the UK, delivering specialist care across the full range of cranial and spinal neurosurgical services. The successful candidate will join the Neuro-Oncology team and work closely with the Consultant Neuro-Oncology Neurosurgeons, providing clinical, operative and multidisciplinary support within a high-volume tertiary referral service. The fellowship offers extensive exposure to the assessment and surgical management of both primary and secondary brain tumours, complex spinal oncology, awake craniotomy, image-guided surgery and interdisciplinary neuro-oncology care. The Fellow will play an integral role within the wider neurosurgical department, working alongside consultants, trainees and specialist practitioners across the service. The Unit hosts a comprehensive range of neurosurgical subspecialties, including functional neurosurgery, epilepsy surgery, complex spine, skull base, vascular neurosurgery and neurotrauma, providing opportunities to gain experience within a busy, well-established and high-performing neurosciences centre.     We are inviting applications for a Senior Clinical Fellow to join the Upper GI department. This is a full-time, permanent post, available to commence as soon as possible, but a suitable start date could be arranged with the successful applicant. The post is ideally suited to fully registered doctors seeking to extend their existing experience of Upper GI surgical services, in an experienced and supportive department. The post-holder will be required to work across both Royal Preston Hospital and Chorley District General Hospital sites. Previous experience at Registrar Level in General Surgery is essential. Ward Duties • Supervise the clinical and teaching activities of junior trainees. • Assess all new patients and liaise regarding clinical care with the Consultant and other colleagues. • Maintain appropriate clinical progress notes in the case notes. • Keep relatives informed regarding the progress of the patient and obtain Informed Consent for operations/procedures co-ordinating with the Consultant as appropriate. Operating Theatre • Attend the regular operating sessions of the Clinical Team to assist with major surgery and be trained in skills of increasing complexity under the close supervision of the Consultant. • Assist in the operating sessions of other teams from time to time and co-ordinate, assist with/perform emergency operations. Outpatient Clinics The Clinical Fellow must assist with the regular outpatient clinics including the ambulatory emergency general surgical clinic under the guidance and supervision of the Consultant. The clinical fellow is expected to cover hot clinics. On-Call Currently there is a 1:10 full shift system in operation, with prospective cover for annual leave and study leave. The unit is a well-recognised centre for advanced training in Breast and Reconstructive Microsurgery, Hand and Complex Limb Trauma reconstruction, Burns acute management and late reconstruction, and Cleft surgery. St Andrews Centre is also a regional tertiary centre for Head and Neck cancer services for the Essex region. The fellow will be involved in the management of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer with loco-regional and free flaps reconstruction. You will be involved in SNLB, regional lymph node dissection (neck, axilla and groin) and parotidectomy for parotid metastasis.     Senior Clinical Fellow – Young Adult Hip Service The Trauma and Orthopaedic service at University College Hospital is led by 16 Consultants who specialise in a range of elective and trauma work. We are seeking a Senior Clinical fellow to join the young adult hip service, specialising in hip preservation and replacement surgery. The Fellow will also be working alongside a team of musculoskeletal radiologists, anaesthetists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and hand therapists. We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled orthopaedic surgeon with keen interest and experience in hip surgery – specifically wanting to be trained in hip replacement, arthroscopy and periacetabular osteotomy. The candidate must be post MRCS, have at least 36 months Orthopaedic experience and have obtained full registration with the General Medical Council of the United Kingdom. We are seeking candidates for a start date of October 2027, and the post is for 12 months.
