The primary purpose of this role is to contribute to the continued development and provision of a very high quality therapy service to meet the needs of people with common mental health problems in Lewisham. The service consists of approximately 100 WTE clinical and administration staff providing a service across Lewisham. The main service base is Lewisham Town Hall, Catford This is a borough of high social and psychological needs with considerable cultural diversity. The service sees clients with a wide range of common mental health problems and varying levels of severity. Many clients present with multiple problems including social, housing and employment issues. The postholder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities. We operate a stepped care service model offering on-line CBT, guided self-help, groups and workshops as well as individual therapy (CBT and a range of other approaches) and offer treatment to Lewisham residents suffering from long term conditions. We offer clinical services on week days from 9am until 7pm. We have close links with our sister TT services within SLaM, with the IAPT training courses at the Institute of Psychiatry and University College London (UCL) and CADAT. Assess and integrate issues surrounding social support, voluntary work and employment into therapy. • To provide highly specialist assessment and clinical formulation to clients with complex mental health needs, including personality disorders, addiction and trauma. • To provide psychological reports, including relevant formulation, opinion and interventions, in order to inform referrers and, where appropriate, service users. • To select and deliver highly specialist evidence based psychological treatments, monitoring outcomes and modifying and adapting interventions, drawing on a range of theoretical models. • To collect and enter clinical outcome data on a sessional basis; select and interpret outcome measures to inform treatment planning • To work as an autonomous professional within BPS/BABCP/HCPC guidelines and the policies and procedures of the service, taking full responsibility for own work including treatment and discharge decisions. • To travel to community settings as appropriate and across the Trust when required. • To contribute to the effective working of the team and to a psychologically informed framework for the service area, taking on specific roles or duties as agreed. • To communicate skilfully and sensitively highly complex and sensitive information with clients, carers, colleagues and other professionals taking account of sensory and cultural barriers to communication. • To keep clear, accurate and up to date records of all clinical activity in line with service protocols. • To confidently assess and monitor risk and draw up appropriate risk management plans • To confidently advise other members of the service on specialist psychological care of clients. • To respond appropriately and professionally to emotionally distressing situations such as distressed clients or abusive behaviour and to support others involved in such situations. • To provide information and signposting for patients who do not meet the service’s eligibility criteria. • To refer people with more severe common mental health problems to the secondary care psychological therapies service • Work closely with other members of the TT team to ensure that patients referred on to the TT service have a clear referral pathway. • Maintain a clinical caseload in line with activity targets agreed with line manager. 5) TEACHING, TRAINING AND SUPERVISION: • To receive regular clinical and professional supervision from a more senior psychologist/psychotherpist according to BABCP/BPS/HCPC and Trust guidelines. • To contribute to the development of the knowledge and skills base within Lambeth IAPT by maintaining an active awareness of current developments in psychology, CBT, IAPT and by implementing knowledge gained in practice. • To provide professional managerial, and clinical supervision to HI CBT therapists, Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners, trainees, assistant psychologist and other junior staff members for all aspects of their work.     This is a fixed term post in Obstetrics & Gynaecology with effect as soon as possible. This is a fixed term post in Obstetrics & Gynaecology with effect as soon as possible. This post attracts overseas doctors with experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to familiarise themselves with the UK system and preparing for their exams whilst working in the UK. The post offers registrars with an opportunity to consolidate their training in High risk Obstetrics with particular interest in maternity triage, Obstetric day unit, be aware of the referral pathway and antenatal patient management. The successful applicant will receive training in the management of acute Obstetrics and medical conditions in pregnant women. In addition, he/she will be taking part in a variety of obstetrics and gynaecology activities including gynaecology on-call, theatre activities for both Obstetrics and gynaecology, antenatal and gynaecology clinics. The successful candidate will also be expected to maintain the local database and take part in research activity. General Responsibilities The duties under consultant supervision include the following – 1. Taking part in regular Obstetric tirage sessions alongside other registrars 2. Coordinate and management of the patients seen in maternity triage and Day unit with agreed management plans with the duty consultant 3. Participate on the on call rota with Gynaecology cover. 4. Attending main theatre and day surgery and performing procedures under consultant supervision 5. Scan reviews and formalizing management plan 6. Engage in research activities, either existing or candidates own research. Teaching and Training Responsibilities 1. The clinician is involved in teaching junior staff, nurses and medical students. 2. The Registrar will assist with organisation of Departmental meetings and presenting cases. 3. There are facilities available for research. Croydon Health Services provides integrated NHS services to care for people at home, in schools, and health clinics across the borough as well as at Croydon University Hospital and Purley War Memorial Hospital. CUH provides more than 100 specialist services and is home to the borough’s only Emergency Department and 24/7 maternity services, including a labour ward, midwifery-led birth centre and the Crocus home birthing team. Purley War Memorial Hospital (PWMH) in the south of the borough offers outpatient care, including diagnostic services, physiotherapy and ophthalmology services run by Moorfields Eye Hospital, alongside an onsite GP surgery. Our experienced district nursing teams, Allied Health Professionals and community matrons look after for people of all ages across Croydon and our Children’s Hospital at Home cares for children with long-term conditions without them having to come to hospital. We are a very close-knit and friendly organisation where everyone of our 3600 members of staff is valued. We strongly believe that our employees are our greatest asset. On-Call Duties The unit offers a two tier system for junior doctors. The successful applicant will work on the middle grade rota. The job includes nights and weekends on call. There is a regular weekend on-call and approximately three nights monthly. Emergency Cover The Junior Doctor accepts that he / she will also perform duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the Duty Consultant, in conjunction where practicable with his / her colleagues, both senior and junior. It has been agreed between the professions and the DHSS while junior staffs accept that they will perform such duties, it stresses that additional commitments arising under this sub-section are exceptional and in particular that Junior Staff should not be required to undertake work on this kind for prolonged periods on a regular basis.
