We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Physiotherapist to join our team and you will have past experience in Orthopaedic physiotherapy. The team is passionate about teaching and development. The post holder will be based in the Trauma Orthopaedic Therapy Team working on the wards of a Major Trauma Unit, within the Wessex Trauma Network. The post will involve working with service users with a range of complex presentations including Fractured Neck of Femur, Multi-trauma and Spinal fractures. This position is for a full time Senior Physiotherapist within Trauma Orthopaedic therapy. The role will be based at Poole Hospital initially before a planned service move to Bournemouth in April 2027. Working patterns will vary but will be across 7 days, include some evening, bank holidays and respiratory on-call as rostered. Base Location: Poole Hospital/Bournemouth Hospital Interview Date: 1st September The therapy team has been integral to recent service developments, including the implementation of new therapy pathways and excellent multidisciplinary teamwork. On-going work on the Trust’s transformation of services will provide exciting developmental opportunities in the future, working towards the team’s move to Royal Bournemouth site in the future. You will be highly organised and have the ability to independently manage a busy clinical caseload. You will be involved in staff supervision and training, quality improvement projects and service development. You will be forward thinking, flexible in your approach to work and have excellent communication skills. You will flourish in the team environment and have well developed supervision skills. Support of junior staff is an important aspect of this position. You will have previous experience of working as a Physiotherapist across a variety of clinical areas as well as a comprehensive knowledge of the physiotherapy assessment and treatment of a range of clinical conditions. You will be well supported by your fellow Physiotherapy colleagues and necessary training will be provided.     Senior Research Associate: Artificial Intelligence for Ecology

    An exciting opportunity for an AI researcher to join the BEACON project, developing novel approaches to unlock animal behaviour as an early warning system for conservation. Location: Lancaster. Travel for collaborations as required. Contract length: 2 years 9 months. We are seeking a highly motivated researcher to help shape the AI approaches within the broader scientific vision of BEACON (Behavioural Ecology AI for CONservation action), a new interdisciplinary research programme funded by UKRI. BEACON will develop the first integrated AI-enabled system for monitoring ecosystems and guiding conservation decisions through changes in animal behaviour. You will work closely with the PI (Dr Sally Keith), Co-I (Prof Chris Nemeth, Turing Fellow) and an interdisciplinary team to develop novel AI approaches for automated behavioural monitoring from underwater video, contributing across computer vision, machine learning, edge AI and interpretable decision-support systems. These methods will be integrated with ecological experiments and mechanistic models to create real-world conservation tools. We are looking for someone with a strong technical foundation and curiosity about applying AI to complex real-world problems. You should have a PhD in computer vision, machine learning, AI or a related discipline, with practical experience developing and applying deep learning approaches to real-world datasets. Familiarity with ecology, animal behaviour or environmental science would be advantageous but is not essential. A commitment to open science, reproducible research and responsible AI principles is essential. You will join a growing interdisciplinary team within the LEC-REEFS research group, linked strongly to the Data Science and AI Institute @Lancaster (DSAIL), working alongside behavioural ecologists, field ecologists and conservation practitioners. The project draws on an extensive archive of underwater video footage from the ReefRUV Network through Prof Sergio Floeter (Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina), and will collaborate with an international network of academic and conservation partners including Dr José Paula (University of Lisbon), the Seychelles Parks and Gardens Authority, Cefas, Natural England and Renew Earth. Dedicated training and mentoring will support the successful candidate in developing expertise in ecology, enabling them to work confidently at the interface of AI and conservation.     The Senior Data Science Manager will provide senior delivery leadership for advanced analytics, machine learning and applied AI work within the AI Factory. The role will lead major workstreams or products end-to-end, shaping deliverable problem statements with stakeholders, agreeing scope and success measures, and ensuring solutions are reproducible, supportable and fit to scale across organisations where appropriate. The role will focus on production-facing data science and ML Engineering capability, ensuring work follows good engineering discipline, proportionate model governance, monitoring, AQA and responsible AI expectations. The postholder will lead multidisciplinary delivery across analytics, engineering, product and operational partners. They will design, build and assure machine-learning, AI, forecasting and automation solutions, taking technical responsibility across stages of development and applying appropriate software development methods, tools and techniques. They will set standards for version control, testing, documentation and automation, ensure data products are reproducible and supportable, and manage risks, dependencies and assurance activity. They will also coach staff, support technical leadership, and strengthen adoption of modern, reusable approaches such as RAP and MLOps.
