Candidates who achieve a higher pre-determined VBA score may be invited to the OAC sooner. You will then be invited to provide a written response to three behaviour-based questions. We will explore your understanding of the prison officer role in a women’s prisons and why you are interested in the role. Once you’ve successfully completed the (OAC) and written responses and we’ve offered you a role, we will invite you to a medical and fitness test. This will cover an eyesight test, hearing test and basic health screening, including a blood pressure check. To become a prison officer, you will need to: • be at least 18 years old at the commencement of employment • meet the Civil Service Nationality requirements • pass a medical and fitness assessment • meet the required eyesight standard in both eyes • for safety reasons, meet a suitable standard of hearing. • Whilst tattoos are permitted, including those that are visible, they must not be deemed as offensive, discriminatory, violent, or intimidating in any way. Facial tattoos are generally not acceptable, except where this is for cultural, religious, or medical reasons. Pay The initial training is 37 hours a week. After training, you can choose to work 37, 39 or 41 hours a week. Your annual salary will reflect your weekly hours: • 37 hours a week = £34,928 a year • 39 hours a week = £36,816 a year • 41 hours a week = £39,334 a year All salary figures quoted include any additional allowances that are applicable to the role/location. The standard working week of a prison officer is based on a 39 hours per week shift pattern.     Business Support is key to the success of our Children’s Services because our Business Support teams are there, making sure things run smoothly, so that our frontline colleagues can deliver for children and families in the community. All that work in the background doesn’t just happen, it takes dedicated colleagues, taking pride in their work and seeing a purpose in the work they are doing. As part of a Business Support team you will be supporting Managers and Practitioners working in the Lichfield District. The position is 18 hours per week working: Wednesday 9 - 1, Thursday and Friday 9 - 4.30 (with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break) Package Description Main Responsibilities As part of a Business Support team you will be supporting Social Workers working across the district You will support Managers/Social Workers and Practitioners as a first point of contact, ensuring children, families, partners and stakeholders are received with a professional/knowledgeable response to enquiries in a timely manner. support Managers/Social Workers and Practitioners workload, convene and attend meetings, including statutory multi agency meetings, coordinating the circulation of agendas and relevant papers, taking and distributing appropriate notes, minutes and actions. complete a range of administrative tasks. accurately input, maintain and data cleanse information systems, ensuring children’s/families/system records are kept up to date. undertake a range of financial transactions as directed including placing orders for services/equipment, which may include the use of Purchasing Cards, monitor and maintaining financial records. maintain knowledge of legislation, policies, guidance, processes and best practice relating to the service area.
