Accountabilities Provides financial support in relation to the assessment, payment and collection of income, to both internal and external customers, contributing towards delivery of the business plan for financial transactions, in support of the wider organisational vision. Provides technical support to team members and customers answering more complex queries in a professional manner in accordance with financial procedures. Acts as the subject matter expert for Assessment, Income and/or Banking processes. Contribute to the identification and clarification of customer needs, to deliver process and technology changes, which drive efficiency and value for money. Contribute to improving financial awareness and capability across the organisation, to promote the culture of empowering budget holders in line with financial regulations. Carries out data analysis to produce reports for Financial Assessments, Income, Banking and external customers, to support the management of organisational performance, maximise income and ensure compliance to Financial Regulations and audit requirements. Contributes to service improvement projects/programmes to achieve best practice and organisational efficiency by recommending process improvements and redesign. Contributes to maintaining currency on legislation changes and translating these into local policy and procedure, to identify and review potential changes in technology. Working collaboratively and flexibly across teams within Financial Assessments, Income and Banking to deliver a high level of service to all functions. Contribute to identifying risks and supporting the resolution, to minimise financial impact and loss to the organisation. There may be times that you are required to support the young person to deliver direct reparation to the person harmed by their behaviour and so an understanding of restorative processes is desirable. The ability to form positive and constructive relationships with vulnerable children will be crucial to achieve their potential and contribute positively to their community. About The Role School Crossing Patrol Hours: 10 per week - Term time only Location: Hereford Contract - Fixed term September 2026 - July 2028 Salary: HC03 £13.28 - £13.49 per hour Closing Date: Thursday 1st October 2026 The Role Herefordshire Council are seeking a school crossing patrol to assist children and pedestrians on their journeys to and from school during term time at Aylestone Hill in Hereford. What will you be doing? Managing a crossing site located on A465 at Aylestone Hill, Hereford at fixed duty times, during term time. Two hours per day 0800 – 0900 and 1500-1600. Term time only This is a fixed term vacancy from September 2026 to July 2028. Full on-site training and uniform will be provided About You As a school crossing patrol you will: Have a high degree of safety observation and situational awareness Be reliable and punctual Have clear and confident communication skills with pedestrians, drivers and road users Have good mobility, good eyesight and hearing to enable safe movement in and out of the road Eyesight and hearing correction is acceptable Be comfortable working and standing outdoors in all weathers for prolonged periods Be able to confidently manage pedestrians and traffic in a busy, challenging environment The role requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service certificate which will form part of the recruitment process for the successful candidate We Offer Salary range starting at £13.28 rising to £13.49 per hour. Pay is spread equally over 12 months to ensure you receive regular pay Leave entitlement is included within the pay calculation.
