Please note this is a one-year Fixed Term Contract. Working hours: The postholder will be working Monday to Friday with daytime clinical duties on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday covering both Sunrise Ward and New Dawn Ward (floating support). Participation in the local resident on-call rota: Resident weekday on-call Monday, Wednesday and Thursday (5:00 pm – 9:00 am). Resident weekend on-call approximately two weekends in every four-week rota (Friday 5:00 pm – Monday 9:00 am). This is an exciting opportunity to work across two highly specialised inpatient psychiatric, offering excellent exposure to complex psychiatry within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment. The successful candidate will work across a (20 female beds): Sunrise Ward (10 beds) is a specialist Eating Disorders ward providing assessment and treatment for adults with severe eating disorders requiring inpatient care. New Dawn Ward (9 beds) is a Tier 4 specialist Personality Disorder service delivering psychologically informed treatment for adults with complex emotional and relational difficulties. Annexe (1 bed Long Term Segregation (LTS) unit. Unlike a traditional Resident Medical Officer post, this hybrid role combines autonomous daytime clinical responsibilities with resident on-call duties, providing a broad and varied clinical experience across two specialist services. Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and contributing to clinical governance, auditing, and quality improvement activities. Resident On-Call Responsibilities The post includes participation in the resident medical on-call rota: (for example) Weekday resident on-call: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday (5:00 pm – 9:00 am). Weekend resident on-call: Approximately two weekends in every four-week rota (Friday 5:00 pm – Monday 9:00 am). Role Overview As part of a team, you will deliver intensive housing management services on site that meet the needs of vulnerable residents andsupport the general maintenance and security of the buildings. Key Responsibilities: Carry out regular building inspections, identify elements of maintenance required and report repairs to the appropriate department. To help maintain a high standard of cleanliness, safety and security within the building by carrying out regular checks (e.g. patrols and monitoring of CCTV, alarm testing) and maintaining accurate records (e.g. visitor logbooks, maintenance reporting, etc). To direct service contractors as required, helping to ensure an efficient and cost-effective service is delivered to residents and to the organisation. To be a key holder for the building and to allow/supervise access as appropriate. To assist the Housing Team with viewings and sign-ups where there are individual tenant needs and assist new residents to settle into their accommodation. To develop and maintain constructive relationships with residents, care and support providers, commissioning bodies and others from the wider community Conduct void inspections and ensure rooms are prepared for allocation. Role Details: Position: Medical Welfare Officer Location: Waltham Forest Salary: £29,000-£30,000 Hours: Full-time Start Date: ASAP School Type: Primary / Secondary School Setting The Role: As a Medical Welfare Officer, you will: * Provide first aid and medical support to pupils and staff where required * Manage and maintain accurate medical records and care plans * Administer medication in line with school policies and procedures * Support pupils with ongoing medical needs throughout the school day * Liaise with parents, carers, school staff and external agencies * Monitor pupil wellbeing and respond to medical or welfare concerns * Ensure medical supplies, first aid boxes and records are kept up to date * Follow safeguarding, health and safety and confidentiality procedures at all times * Support the wider pastoral and welfare team when needed The Ideal Candidate Will Have: * Previous experience in a medical, welfare, first aid, healthcare or school support role * A valid First Aid qualification is desirable * Experience working with children or young people is desirable * Strong organisational and communication skills * Confidence handling medical information and maintaining confidentiality * A calm, caring and professional approach * Good attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures * An Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Medical Welfare Officer looking for a rewarding role in a supportive school based in Waltham Forest.     The role provides a key interface between developers and contracted suppliers with social value commitments and those that can benefit from them, helping to define, monitor and support delivery of these commitments. You will: Work closely and positively with social value providers - including contracted suppliers, construction partners and developers, to define and support the evidenced delivery of their social value commitments. Collaborate with team colleagues, council services, contract managers and planning officers to define social value requirements through planning processes (Section 106) or procurement, and assess subsequent proposals. Engage fully with local partners including colleges, VCSE organisations, schools, businesses and council services to develop or identify opportunities that can benefit from the social value commitments that have been secured. Contribute to the continued development of our approach to social value delivery through knowledge building and sharing best practice, supporting the implementation of our Social Value Framework. Support the monitoring and reporting of social value delivery, including through written and verbal presentation.
