The role requires the flexibility to work not only in your base Custody suite but across an assigned region in the Police Custody Suites and Force area What you can earn: -Salary of £29,453.89 -Full time - this entails fixed shift working in a team rota pattern of 4 shifts on and 4 days off: 06:45 to 19:00 for 2-day shifts followed by 2-night shifts of 18:45 to 07:00, -Rolling rota available 2 years in advance. -These patterns are contractually agreed with the customer: whereas there may be opportunities for a part-time or mutually agreed “Bank” contract, we require all employees to work full shifts, and part-time employees still need to carry out some Night shifts -You refer a colleague who successfully join us? That is £150 each time! As well has escorting detainees, making recorded observations as per their individual plan, you will work with colleagues and the Police to deal with any detainee that is a risk of harming themselves. You will be working in a small team alongside Police Officers: whilst also having the support of experienced Senior Custody Detention Officers to learn from. Training  Once you have passed our selection and vetting process, you will begin your Police Services career by completing a 3-week initial training course (ITC) Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm on FULL PAY. You will then have continued development. As part of the research and finance team, you will work closely with academic and professional services colleagues across the School of History, Classics and Archaeology and our Research Cluster colleagues in Arts and Cultures to play a key role in supporting research applications and awards. You will work with academic colleagues to help cost applications, ensuring that these costs meet the funders eligibility requirements and University policy. A good ability to read, digest and communicate complex policy and procedures is therefore required. Once research applications have been awarded you support the financial management of the projects including advising on budgets, reconciling spend on accounts and using University systems to facilitate purchasing. Experience working with financial or numerical data is needed, along with good Excel skills. We are looking for someone who is a good team player with excellent interpersonal skills as this work involves liaison with different stakeholders within and outside the University.     Relief Security Officer - DWP Preston / BlackpoolLocations: Blackpool / Preston and surrounding areaPay Rate: £13.45 per hourShifts: Day shifts, typically Monday-Saturday, with occasional Sunday work Mitie is recruiting Relief Security Officers to support the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) contract across Greater Manchester & Cheshire. This is a great opportunity to join a large, established organisation. As a Relief Officer, you will cover for full time colleagues during holidays, sickness, and last-minute absences, so weekly hours will vary depending on business needs. Key Responsibilities -Patrol sites and control access -Respond to incidents and emergencies -Liaise with emergency services when required -Provide excellent customer service -Complete incident reports and follow security procedures Training -Fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training. -To undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development as directed by the Security Account Manager. -Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge and expertise through continual professional development. Security and Health & Safety -Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site. -Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment in order to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage. -Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening. -To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers. -Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process. -Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client. -To ensure check calls are being carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions (AI's). -To call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.
