A key part of the role will be developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reporting datasets, validating and reconciling complex data, and working with stakeholders to turn reporting requirements into clear, usable outputs. You will also contribute to recurring MI and GMS / Integrated Settlement reporting, documentation and quality assurance, and to improvements that reduce manual processing and make reporting more resilient. This hands-on role offers real ownership of reporting, direct collaboration with programme teams, and the opportunity to improve processes rather than repeat them. As part of a developing directorate-wide function, you’ll work with Adult Skills/ILR, GMIT, and other programme data, build technical expertise, and contribute to enhancing EWS’s use of data and evidence. You will have experience producing management information or analytical outputs from large datasets and practical experience of developing or maintaining Power BI reports or dashboards. The Role You will be responsible for investigating housing complaints, carrying out property inspections, and enforcing housing legislation where required. The role involves working closely with landlords, tenants, and partner agencies to improve housing conditions and ensure residents live in safe and healthy environments. What you’ll do as an Electro Technical Officer (ETO) Reporting directly to the Chief Engineer, the Electro Technical Officer (ETO) will be responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and ongoing reliability of the vessel’s electrical and electronic systems. Key responsibilities include: · Maintenance, testing, and support of shipboard safety and emergency systems, ensuring their continued availability and compliance with statutory, Class, and Company requirements. · Providing electrical and technical support for vessel navigation, communication, and associated electronic systems, ensuring reliable operation and ongoing regulatory compliance. · Electrical and technical support for propulsion related, vessel manoeuvring, and Dynamic Positioning (DP) systems, including associated power generation, distribution, drive, control, and redundancy systems, where fitted. · Execution of planned maintenance activities in accordance with the vessel’s Planned Maintenance System (PMS), ensuring tasks are completed correctly, efficiently, and within required intervals. · Maintaining accurate and timely records to support compliance with Class, Flag State, ISM, ISPS, DP notation, and charterer requirements, ensuring documentation remains audit ready at all times. · Liaison with shoreside technical support and service engineers, coordinating inspections, defect rectification, upgrades, and specialist attendance as required. · Providing electrical support and technical guidance to engineering staff and deck officers, supporting safe, efficient vessel operations and the integrity of DP and other critical systems. Qualifications & Experience Essential: · Valid STCW Electro‑Technical Officer Certificate (III/6) · Recognised seagoing ETO experience · Strong knowledge of marine electrical, electronic, and automation systems · Experience with fault diagnosis and system recovery under operational conditions · Familiarity with PMS systems and audit requirements Desirable: · DP vessel / offshore experience · Knowledge of power management systems and redundancy concepts · High‑voltage training (where applicable) · GMDSS maintenance endorsement Personal Attributes · Highly safety‑focused with a methodical approach to fault‑finding · Able to work independently as the vessel’s electrical specialist · Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with the Chief Engineer and bridge team · Calm and effective under pressure in operational environments · Well organised with good documentation standards Vetting and checks: This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards. We are looking for people who want to make a difference working alongside the Police in custody suites, caring for detainees - From supporting them during the time spent in custody, completing forensic samples, working with other agencies to support and help with detainees' rehabilitation. Previous experience working within the police/security/armed forces would be beneficial. but we will train you in full on an Initial Training Course even without previous experience. You will be expected to use a computer and various programs competently during your working day. The role requires the flexibility to work not only in your base Custody suite but across an assigned region in the Police Custody Suites and Force area What you can earn: -Salary of £29,453.89 -Full time - this entails fixed shift working in a team rota pattern of 4 shifts on and 4 days off: 06:45 to 19:00 for 2-day shifts followed by 2-night shifts of 18:45 to 07:00, Rolling rota available 2 years in advance. -Part time - this entails fixed shift working: 06:45 to 19:00 for day shifts and night shifts of 18:45 to 07:00, working in a team rota pattern of 2-day shifts on, 8 days, 2 nights, 4 days off. You will be working in a small team alongside Police Officers: whilst also having the support of experienced Senior Custody Detention Officers to learn from. Training  Once you have passed our selection and vetting process, you will begin your Police Services career by completing a 3-week initial training course (ITC) Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm on FULL PAY. You will then have continued development.
