However, he also requires clear routines, consistency and a structured approach, supported by a visual timetable or plan to help him feel safe and understand what is happening throughout the day. About the Role The work is based mainly at the employer’s home and will include helping her in her everyday life. She is kind and elderly. Her current PA staff love spending time with her and she'd like to expand the team around her. • Supporting with personal care, toileting, dressing and showering when needed. • Preparing meals and encouraging adequate food and fluid intake. • Prompting medication and prescribed exercises. • Helping with laundry, shopping, everyday household tasks, bins and recycling. • Providing companionship and sometimes accompanying her on walks, outings or activities. • Helping her prepare safely in the morning or at bedtime, depending on the shift. • Checking that her mobile phone and fall-detection watch are charged. • Writing a few brief notes about the support provided during each visit. The emphasis is on supporting independence, choice and confidence rather than taking over tasks unnecessarily. Full guidance, training and a detailed information pack will be provided. About You You should be: • Kind, patient, trustworthy and dependable. • Punctual, observant and able to follow agreed guidance. • Comfortable providing respectful personal care when needed. • Able to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality. • Willing to work flexibly as part of a small PA team. • Committed to promoting dignity, choice and independence. • Comfortable working in a non-smoking household. Essential experience: Previous care experience is essential, with at least five years’ experience required. A driving licence is useful but not essential. Anyone using their own vehicle for work must have appropriate business-use insurance. Pay and Conditions • £15 per hour. • Approximately 5–15 hours per week, depending on your availability and the needs of the PA team. • We'd offer at least a minimum 3 hr or 6hr shift in one session so that visiting is worth your while. • For PAYE employees: paid annual leave, workplace pension and Statutory Sick Pay where eligibility requirements are met. • For genuinely self-employed PAs: travel allowance for anyone living more than five miles away. • Role-specific guidance and support within a friendly, welcoming environment. Reference: 8d11f0d7 Hi im seeking to employ an experienced female PA/care assistant to join a small team who assist me each morning to get up & prepared for the day, and support me in keeping on top of household chores, life admin, dog walking & hobbies. I am paralysed from the chest down due to a spinal cord injury in my neck, so require some assistance with personal care, to get up, showered and dressed in the morning. Bowel care by district nurses. Experience of working with this type of condition preferred, however full training and shadowing will be given. I'm active, independent wherever possible, and don't require the use of a hoist. I have a degree of flexibilty in availability: Monday 0800-1200 Tuesday or Wednesday but not both, 0800-1200 Some weekends 0900-1100 or 0900-1300 I can create a bespoke pattern from the above for the right person. I use a great agency for extra cover where required but prefer to employ direct. I live in LS6 with my wife & small dog.
