We have an exciting opportunity for two highly motivated physiotherapists to join our AHP inpatient mental health team. Following significant investment, we previously expanded our AHP provision across our inpatient mental health services. We are now looking to recruit to one band 6 physiotherapy post - a 12-month fixed-term post for our North Division This is an exciting opportunity to work with service users with a range of physiotherapy needs. You will work closely with the physiotherapists, dietitians and speech and language therapists in the AHP inpatient team, as well as the ward based multidisciplinary teams including nursing staff, occupational therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, advanced practitioners, and peer support workers.Candidates need to share our passion for delivering high quality interventions within a range of inpatient services, including working age adult mental health as well as our services providing inpatient rehabilitation and high support. You will need to be an autonomous practitioner who is able to prioritise and manage their own physiotherapy caseload, using enhanced clinical reasoning to formulate treatment plans and interventions. You will be responsible for attending MDT meetings and will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide evidence-based treatment interventions and discharge plans.You will need to be an excellent communicator, keen team memberand embrace our Trust’s values of kindness, fairness, ingenuity and determination. You will be supervised by one of our band 7 clinical lead physiotherapists and we will support you to develop your skills and creativity in this role through separate management and clinical supervision. Duties and responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Advisory Provide specialty-specific clinical advice to the Divisional Medical Director, Operational Managers, and Trust Executives to inform operational and corporate decisions and future service planning. Contribute to the development and delivery of departmental and divisional strategic objectives, aligned to Trust priorities and NHS England guidance. Act as the senior clinical representative in relevant business cases, transformation projects, and capital investment planning. Lead the development and delivery of clinical services through vertical and horizontal integration. Quality and Safety Oversee clinical quality, patient safety, and risk management in the department. Monitor clinical performance indicators, incident reporting, complaints, and patient experience feedback. Ensure leadership is available for clinical audit, mortality and morbidity reviews, and clinical governance meetings. Ensure compliance with national clinical standards and contribute to CQC readiness and responses. Medical Leadership & Line Management Provide day-to-day professional leadership and line management for the department medical workforce, and plan for effective job planning, appraisal and revalidation, and rota oversight. Support recruitment, induction, and retention of medical staff. Promote a culture of open communication, professional support, and continuous improvement. Departmental Coordination Coordinate departmental activities, including clinical service delivery, postgraduate education, workforce planning, and service development. Foster multidisciplinary collaboration and ensure effective working relationships with nursing, allied health professionals, and management teams. Represent the department at relevant hospital and external forums.
