As a Social Care Officer you will have the opportunity to put the residents care and wellbeing at the heart of everything you do. Promoting independence, dignity and quality of life at all times in a person centred caring and supportive environment. Duties will also include assisting with daily activities, providing residents with both physical and emotional support and personal care as needed. You will be required to administer medication, assist with developing support plans and carry out reviews to achieve desired outcomes. We operate a 12 hour shift pattern and on a 6 week rota pattern and you will work 2 weeks of night duty and 4 weeks of day duty. Each service has a dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist who performs the duties of Responsible Clinician. The available post is for Jubilee Ward (10 bedded Specialist Dementia Service, and 6 bedded Functional Disorders). An excellent opportunity for somebody looking to join an established team caring for individuals with Dementia. Jubilee Ward is a 16 bedded male unit which provides a therapeutic environment for men with dementia (10 beds) and Functional Disorders (6 beds). Most patients are under MHA. The Consultant will work closely with other experienced members of the MDT. The post would be suitable for an Older Adult Consultant Psychiatrist or a General Adult Psychiatrist, with experience of older adults. Physical health input is provided by the on-site Specialist Physical Health Nurse and visiting GP.
