Built in 2018, Wayfarer Place is a Retirement Living Plus development that consists of 56 apartments with the over 70's in mind, providing excellent on-site facilities and set within beautiful grounds. Hourly rate: £13.70 per hour, plus earn up to an additional £1.30 for working evening and weekend hours Hours: 20 per week About the role: As a Care Assistant you will provide the highest quality of individual care to our residents enabling them to live later life well. You will deliver housekeeping and domestic support across the general estate, including apartment cleans. Duties will be varied and include supporting and encouraging our residents to take part in a wide range of activities that support their health and wellbeing. You will help them to book appointments, arrange transport and where necessary, escort them on visits and assist with their shopping. Every day will be diverse, and you’ll have the opportunity to use your people skills to make a real difference. About you: You will be a warm, friendly individual with ideally some experience of working in a care or support environment. You will have a passion for making a difference to the wellbeing and happiness of older people and enjoy working as part of team in a busy work setting. You will be driven to deliver excellent customer service. You will want to work in the Health and Social care sector and preferably have a QCF Health and Social Care (Adults) Level 2 qualification, although consideration will be given to a candidate with an alternative qualifications and relevant experience. This role is available on a part-time basis of 22.5 hours per week, with travel primarily local to the geographical areas of service delivery. As Care Manager, you will support the Registered Care Manager with day-to-day care responsibilities, taking individual management responsibility for local authority funded care packages in your assigned area and ensuring care assessments, risk assessments and person-centred plans are completed to a high standard and within required timescales. About the role You will help ensure the highest possible standard of care is delivered in line with company policies, current care regulations, CQC requirements and person-centred best practice. The role involves working closely with clients, families, representatives, Personal Assistants, social workers, health professionals and other relevant organisations to ensure each client’s needs, rights and choices remain central to their care. Key responsibilities Line manage, supervise and support Personal Assistants, including observations, team meetings and return-to-work discussions where required. Create and maintain care plans, risk assessments and person-centred records in line with organisational policies and procedures. Support onboarding by helping develop the right staff team to meet each client’s care and support needs. Formulate initial rotas before passing them to the Scheduling Department. About you We are looking for someone who is organised, confident and committed to delivering excellent care. You will be able to work independently, manage competing priorities and build positive working relationships with clients, families, Personal Assistants and professionals. Essential requirements Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a health and social care environment. Hold, or be willing to undertake, a Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification in Health and Social Care or equivalent. Experience of writing and completing person-centred plans, care assessments and risk assessments. Knowledge of safeguarding, whistleblowing, medication administration and regulatory audit requirements. Supervisory experience with the ability to develop staff. Excellent written and verbal communication, planning, organisational and analytical skills. Valid DBS, or willingness to obtain one. Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
