The Leadership & Management Tutor - Higher Psychiatry (North West London Training Programmes) will support the onward development and delivery of our bespoke programme of Leadership and Management training in the Higher Psychiatry Regional Training Programme in North West London. The post holder will additionally deliver an Action Learning Sets (ALS) Programme for Higher Residents and support the identification of supervisors/mentors for management projects within their employing Trust which can be presented at an executive level. This exciting role will play a key part in realising the commitment of the Trust to embedding the Faculty of Medical Leadership & Management (FMLM) Standards. Working in collaboration with key stakeholders, including Training Programme Directors, Training Managers and Doctors in Postgraduate Training you will organise, plan and support delivery of bespoke training sessions in Leadership and Management in the Higher Psychiatry Regional Training Programme for NW London. In addition, you will manage the Action Learning Set Programme for higher residents to support mentored management projects and ensure systems for quality assurance for the programme as a whole. A fantastic and exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Deputy Team Manager for The Richmond Integrated Recovery Hub, supporting the team manager to provide clinical and operational leadership to the team. The successful candidate will report directly to the team manager and deputise for the team manager when they are on leave. The successful applicant will also work as a care-coordinator/key worker and carry a reduced caseload. The team provides care for working age adults who live in Richmond and experience severe or enduring mental illness., with care provided according to GP/PCN alignment. The team works closely with the Richmond Integrated Recovery Hub The post sits within a well-established MDT that works alongside a separate single point of access team, early intervention service, primary care liaison and personality disorder services. This post requires someone with drive, energy and a commitment to high-performance standards and the delivery of excellent services. The post holder would be joining a supportive Multidisciplinary Team, with regular supervision and opportunities to participate in service development. The post holder will support the team manager with day-to-day problem solving and navigation, both within the service and at the interface with other services and external organisations. In addition, the post holder will supervise staff, support with quality improvement and service development. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, an aptitude for managing multiple demands and effective time management techniques whilst remaining calm under pressure. Working autonomously within the parameters of the role leading and supporting junior staff and wider care team to implement the delivery of quality nursing care, contributing to the physical, psychological, social, recreational and spiritual care in a recovery-focused way through therapeutic engagement and activities, and taking steps to address any issues that arise. Leading on and undertaking activities to ensure that the fundamentals of care are met - nutrition, hydration, hygiene, comfort, emotional and social support: • Co-ordinating and evaluating collaborative patient centred care; getting feedback and improving plans with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT). • Providing accurate information about care in an accessible format to patients and their relatives / carers. • Liaising and working positively with members of the multi- disciplinary team and partner organisations. • Administering, and monitoring the side-effects of, medication; monitoring service user compliance. Safety; safe custody of medicines, sharps, clinical equipment, report all • incidents following trust policy. Leading and supporting/teaching junior staff on risk assessment and risk management that involves making decisions based on knowledge of the research evidence, knowledge of the individual service user and their social context, knowledge of the service user’s own experience and clinical judgment. Undertaking 1-1 engagement with service users in an honest, open and non- judgmental way. Recognising and valuing service users as individuals, acknowledging the importance of always maintaining the service user’s respect and dignity and ensure that the care provided respects equality and diversity.
